Sophie's Cove, where there's a little bit of everything for sale, but everyone leaves more than they take with them.
A very strong willed mother had sure and certain plans for her daughter.
But her daughter had grown up and made other plans; or at least she did when she set eyes on a man her mother thought all wrong for her. Can two such strong willed women save their relationship or is there too little left to salvage? We will never know unless we join them in Sophie's Cove.
They were cops.
Alexandra could have given many reasons, had you asked her, why she knew they were cops. Given her black skin, you could be forgiven for assuming all her reasons were negative ones but that was not the case. In fact, at least a third of those reasons were positive and very strong ones at that.

“Haunting, isn’t it?”
The young woman turned toward Sophia and nearly dropped the print. “You startled me!”
“I’m sorry,” Sophia said. “You were so lost in the image that I should have known better. Does it remind you of someone?”
Looking back at the image of the man about to walk over the hill and out of sight, perhaps forever, the young woman said nothing for a full minute before swallowing hard and saying, “It was a long time ago. There’s nothing anyone can do about it now.”
“And yet,” said Sophia, “you can’t put it down.”
